Our Philosophy
Making ourselves better humans through good health, positive thinking, positive actions, positive intentions. As we improve ourselves, we improve the World.
We attend Yoga classes to be healthy, to feel good, and to be HAPPY!
Yoga is not a competition. We do not compete with others or even ourselves. We let go of judgment, of others and especially of ourselves. There is no perfect pose. The best and only pose is one that provides safety and maximum benefits. Let go of ego! We attend Yoga classes just to practice, to enjoy, to feel good, to be healthy. We are here for the experience of life!
Breathing is vital to life! Breathing is central to any Yoga practice and to our health. At Yoga Zion, we focus on helping everyone with healthy breathing. Breathing should be natural, calm, slow, deep and diaphragmatic. Short shallow or “chest,” and “reverse” breathing are symptoms of a stressful life style. Great health and happiness stem from healthy breathing.

Our thoughts, our perceptions, our beliefs shape our realities. Through positive thinking, positive actions, positive intentions, we can become the great person we want to be. Being healthy, being happy, feeling good, doing good, all stem from our thoughts and perceptions and beliefs. Believing, knowing, that we are good people, that we are healthy, that we are choosing to view life as all things serving a Common Good, is essential to making all of that reality. Yoga Zion assists students in learning good skills that will make our lives better, through the Yoga class practice and throughout our daily lives.
Our inner World shapes our outer World. With higher confidence comes higher self-esteem. With higher self-esteem comes greater accomplishments, more joy, more happiness, better health, and better humans.
About our Teachers:
We practice Yoga for the pure enjoyment of the practice, for the experience. We know that Yoga is a means to help our lives be better.
We teach our classes knowing that anyone can benefit from yoga. We empower our students to make decisions about their bodies and their minds. When newcomers enter our classes, we welcome them and assist them to a have a positive experience. We ask them about their experience levels and use the walk-crawl-run method of teaching our classes.
Our Yoga classes flow, as if dancing, with smooth transitions in and out of and into the next poses. We offer modifications and provide clear prompts. Our focus is on breathing, safety, being healthy, being happy, with positive thoughts, positive intentions, and positive actions. Our teachers have full participation in the class while teaching, never asking anyone to do poses they cannot do, nor asking anyone to do poses our teachers cannot do themselves.
We enjoy being students of many types of philosophy and exploring new ideas. We incorporate these ideas into our class teachings and into our daily life’s, yet, knowing that not all ideas may fit our classes or into other‘s life‘s. We are all free to make our own choices.
ALL of our teachers are certified in Yoga and CPR/First Aid.
